ABDULLAHI MUBARAKAH OLAYEMI

I am Abdullahi, Mubarakah Olayemi, a graduate of the Department of English in the Faculty of Arts. My LASU journey was challenging, but defining, growth in motion, filled with friends made, mistakes made, and memories built along the way. Did it shape me? Completely.

Graduating with honours despite every setback, and passing all my courses, is what I'm proudest of. Burnout, self-doubt, and balancing school with faith and time management were the real tests I faced, and I overcame them by being extra patient with myself and giving myself grace to learn and adapt as I went.

Mindset, knowledge, and resilience, that's the lesson LASU has left me with for life. Every well-spoken, successful human being I've come across has been a source of inspiration to me, a reminder of what steady growth can look like.

Something most people don't know about me is that I'm actually a good fashion designer, a creative side that doesn't often come up in conversations about my degree. In the coming years, I'm focused on being in a good space, having achieved my goals, and living a genuinely successful life.

My advice to current and incoming students: whatever you're doing, do it well. As the Qur'an reminds me: whoever relies upon Allah, then He is sufficient for him.
