I am Adekalu Gabriel Adebowale, a graduate of the Mechanical Department in the Faculty of Engineering. My journey through LASU was tough, filled with trials and tribulations, but it also came with plenty of fun, unforgettable moments, and the chance to make amazing friends.
I'm proud of how far I've come as a LASUite, the journey wasn't easy, it came with challenges, stress, and difficult moments, but most importantly, I'm proud that I didn't give up. I didn't hold any formal leadership positions during my time on campus.
Academic pressure, financial difficulties, and tight deadlines were my biggest challenges, which I overcame by staying focused, managing my time, and seeking help when I needed it. LASU taught me that perseverance pays off, even when the journey gets tough, a lesson that stays with me for life.
My family, and the desire to make them proud, has been my biggest source of inspiration, their support and sacrifices motivated me to keep pushing even when things got hard.
My advice to current and incoming students: keep going, even when it gets tough, every challenge is an opportunity to grow stronger. Something most people don't know about me is that I'm actually a very reserved person at first, but once I'm comfortable, I'm quite fun and playful.
