I am Adelani Lateefat Omolade, a graduate of English Education in the Faculty of Education. My journey through LASU was hectic and stressful at the beginning, a very challenging and energy-draining experience, but with God's guidance and the right people around me, I'm so glad and grateful that I survived it all.
I graduated with excellent results and had the best of experiences along the way, being appointed Vice President of the Lagos Literary Circle, a literary organisation I joined in school, being elected Director of Skills and Development for JCIN LASU in 2025, and launching my first book during my second year in school. I also joined the Young Africans Leadership Network Lagos, where I took part in numerous volunteering activities.
Adjusting to a new environment and the tiring nature of academic life as a Nigerian student was my biggest challenge, but with the right community around me and God's help, I found my way through it. One lesson that will stay with me for life: to be a good ambassador of LASU wherever I find myself, and to build a solid reputation as a person.
My parents and my Creator have been my biggest sources of inspiration throughout this journey. I was awarded a Leadership Award by Equip Leadership Nigeria and a Certificate of Completion for a Published Speaking Training organised by JCIN Nigeria, along with several other certificates of recognition. Something most people don't know about me: I'm actually a very playful person.
My plans for the next five years centre on owning my own company and building businesses that create employment opportunities for others, seeing myself as a successful entrepreneur in the corporate world. My advice to current and incoming students: read, pray, and join good communities like JCIN LASU and the LASU Debate Society, they'll help build your CV and shape you into a successful graduate. As I remind myself: learn that you can create an outstanding life for yourself instead of letting life happen to you.
