I am Bakare Musiliudeen Kolade, a graduate of Common and Civil Law. My journey wasn't as easy as anyone may assume, LASU put me through five years of perseverance, thirst for excellence, and all-round dexterity for what's ahead, a wholesome experience.
Networking is what I'm proudest of, simply because I was into extracurricular activities across clubs, associations, and leadership positions, I've always loved being part of a team or working toward a project. I served with LASUlife as an Editor, my very first volunteering experience and my first family in school, and held roles as General Secretary of the Ikorodu Students Association, Honourable Member of the Law Students Society SRC, Researcher at The Legal Pacesetters, and Rotaractor, among several other clubs.
Academic setbacks, quite a few carryovers, and financial setbacks were the pilots in my story, but never settle for less, there's more to what you can achieve or become, a lesson I hold onto for life. I won Outstanding Male Executive of the Year at the Ikorodu Students' Association 2026, an Award of Excellence at Africa Auto Fest X 2025, and an Award of Excellence and Service from RAC-LASU 2024, among other recognitions.
My Dad, Super Dad to an incoming lawyer, has been my biggest source of inspiration, though I'd be remiss not to acknowledge the support of my whole family.
My advice to current and incoming students: read well, learn well, network well. Choose what best works for you, and ace it in every ramification. As my personal motto puts it, aut viam inveniam aut faciam, I shall either find a way or make one.
