KASALI SURAJUDEEN ADEDEJI

I am Surajudeen Adedeji Kasali, a graduate of the Department of Journalism in the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies. My journey through LASU was one of growth, persistence, and figuring things out while doing the work.

Completing my degree at LASU is what I'm proudest of, it represents more than just earning a certificate, it reflects my persistence and my ability to overcome the academic and personal challenges that came with finishing university. I didn't hold any formal leadership positions during my time on campus.

Large lecture halls made it hard to get individual attention, so I developed the habit of reading and studying on my own after lectures, and studying with friends to discuss difficult topics and share materials. The importance of being persistent and taking responsibility for my own growth is the lesson that will stay with me for life.

My family, especially the people who believed in and supported me throughout my education, has been my biggest source of inspiration, alongside the people I met and worked with in LASU.

My advice to current and incoming students is to take your education seriously, but also make the most of the opportunities around you, read on your own, ask questions, and develop practical skills related to your field. My plan is to build a career in media, particularly video production and content creation, and as I remind myself: keep moving forward, no matter how slow the progress may seem.
