I am Oyewole Hawau Folashade, a graduate of Science and Technology Education in the Faculty of Education. My journey through LASU wouldn't say was tough, but it definitely wasn't easy either, and I'm grateful for everyone God blessed me with along the way.
The achievement I'm proudest of is finding what I finally want to do in life. I came to LASU without direction, but I'm leaving with a clear bearing. During my 100 and 200 level days, I was part of LASULife, both as a photographer and an editor, and I had a poem featured in the MSSN LASU Al Huda magazine in my final year.
My greatest challenge was time management, since I commuted from home for most of my school days. My friends Aasiyah and Aaishah carried me through it, taking notes, studying with me, and encouraging me constantly. One lesson that will stay with me for life: wherever you are, whatever you do, never forget that people are watching, and whatever you put out has a way of coming back to you.
My friends have been my biggest source of inspiration, wonderful people I aspire to be as smart and morally upright as, alongside my own societal background. In five years, I see myself as a master's degree holder in psychology, a wife, a mother, and a successful businesswoman.
My advice to current and incoming students is to come to school, make friends, take advantage of beneficial opportunities, and have fun without crossing boundaries. Keep your studies as top priority, but don't live a boring school life, and try to make an impact so you won't be easily forgotten. As I always say: last last, everybody go dey alright.
